For those who have worn, and are comfortable with, Traditional kilts, the Dress model is the perfect everyday kilt.
Fastened with your choice of Black/Silver or Brown/Brass straps and buckles the apron of the Dress model is perfect for those who like the look of a sporran. The pleats are narrow like those in a Traditional kilt, 1" wide and 3.5" deep. This allows the Dress kilt to develop the most "swish" of any Contemporary kilt.
If you plan to wear a kilt belt you should request 3" belt loops on your kilt. Even with the addition of side slash pockets and rear welt pockets and Dress model still retains the clean lines of a Traditional kilt.
You Dress kilt can be made from any of our fabrics but we suggest the Polyester/Cotton blend for its superb wrinkle resistance.
The Dress model was designed to be worn with the waist high, like a Traditional kilt. If you want to wear kilt hose we suggest you wear the hem at the top of the knee.
The amount of fabric in your kilt will vary according to your size. For example, a kilt with a 42" waist will have a 16" apron, 26 pleats and will take 8.38 yards of fabric.
